Service Overview

After practicing as a primary care provider for 44 years, Dr. Money has recognized that office medicine today may not allow patients enough time to describe their symptoms or ask questions if they do not understand instructions provided. Many primary care office visits are "routine" follow ups allowing only 10-15 minutes for a complete exam.  However, if a patient has extensive complicated problems, or a new problem, there may not be adequate time for an evaluation.  With a telemedicine consult, there is no time limit and consultations can be scheduled around your schedule. Call 301-824-9240 to learn more.

Dr. Money decided that this was not the way she wanted to take care of patients.  She has always enjoyed being a problem solver, so she decided to transition to a medical consultation service using telemedicine.  Patients will be able to call into her office, tell her about their concerns, and she will advise each person if she thinks she can assist them.  At that point, if they sign up for her consultation, she will completely review their records and then schedule a mutual time for a zoom or phone consultation.  This might be in the evening or on the weekend if the patient is working. There is no time limit like there is in a office setting.

What is not appropriate for concierge telemedicine internal medicine consultation?

Ongoing management of multiple chronic health problems or prescriptions for chronic conditions. This does not include diabetes management or thyroid conditions.  All patients are expected to have their own primary care provider with whom my recommendations will be shared.

Evaluation of any acute medical problem such as but not limited to chest pain, shortness of breath, acute abdominal pain, fever, chills, acute neurological problem, etc.  Any acute problem should be immediately addressed by your primary care provider or direct evaluation at an emergency facility.

Dr. Money’s careful attention to seniors’ needs and ability to coach individuals to better health, has allowed patients to live well into their 90’s or even 100. She has been given special permission to recognize 2 of the 3 patients who are still in the practice and are over 100 here. She has found that seniors need special care and feels quite qualified to help seniors and their families assess proposed treatment options. We now have the ability to perform a lot of treatments for various conditions, but it may not be appropriate for all patients. A careful analysis of the “total health” of the senior patient is one of Dr. Money’s skills.
